About this newsletter

Welcome to the Random Photo Adventure Chronicles Newsletter, a monthly newsletter by nature photographer and independent journalist Greg Noakes, as part of Random Photo Adventure.

Each month, I’ll send out a newsletter with updates and insights from my work as a nature photographer, conservation advocate, and independent journalist. Here’s what you can expect:

While I aim to publish monthly, the frequency may vary as I balance life, fieldwork, and investigative storytelling.

  • Conservation and Wildlife News: Stay up-to-date with the latest news and updates about conservation efforts and wildlife issues in Ontario. This section will highlight local and regional conservation stories, from efforts to protect endangered species to important shifts in environmental policies and how they impact the natural world we care about.

  • Field Notes & Perspectives: Get a peek behind the lens with personal experiences and stories from my time in the field. From wildlife encounters to the story behind a memorable shot, these articles will give you a look into my creative process and time spent in nature.

  • Features & Investigations: Go deeper with in-depth, research-heavy stories and investigative journalism on key topics affecting wildlife protection, conservation, and environmental policy. These articles are meant to provide a more comprehensive look at the issues that matter most.

  • Tips & Tricks: This section covers a variety of practical advice for nature lovers and photographers. Whether you're seeking photography tips, gear recommendations, or ideas for enjoying the outdoors responsibly, there's something for everyone!

  • Curated News: Each month, I’ll share noteworthy conservation and wildlife stories that have already been covered by other publications from across Canada and around the world.

This newsletter is your window into the wild, exploring the beauty of Ontario’s landscapes, wildlife, and conservation challenges.

About Greg Noakes

Hello there, my name is Greg and I'm a nature photographer from Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada. As an outdoor enthusiast, I'm always looking for ways to immerse myself in the natural world, and photography has been the perfect medium for me to do so.

With every shot I take, I strive to capture the essence and beauty of the world around me. Whether it's a grand landscape or a small detail, I believe that every element in nature has its own story to tell, and it's my job as a photographer to bring those stories to life.

For me, photography is not just a hobby, but a way of life. It's a way for me to connect with the natural world, to explore new places and to see the world through a different lens. I'm constantly inspired by the beauty and complexity of the natural world, and I'm grateful to be able to share my perspective with others through my photography.
